The inauguration ceremony of Chinese Bookshelf of the National Library of the Philippines was held in Philippines' capital city Manila on Thursday. More than 200 books on modern Chinese literature and language studies, donated by the Beijing Language and Culture University Press, were included in the library's new collection.
The event was jointly organized by the National Library of the Philippines and the Beijing Language and Culture University Press, and co-organized by the Confucius Institute at the Angeles University Foundation.
A photo exhibition, "100 Buzz Words for Understanding China in the New Era", was held at the library to help visitors gain a better understanding of China. A series of activities were also organized to enhance cultural ties between the two countries, including a singing performance, Chinese calligraphy writing, and Chinese knot making.
